The “Gender Theses” program was launched by the Women’s Studies Network, in cooperation with the Institute of Social Sciences at the Lebanese University, Basma International Group, the Lebanese Sociology Association, and the Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Jordan, and the Laboratory of Religion and Society at the University of Algiers 2, with the participation of research centers and scientific societies from the members of the Women’s Studies Network. This program comes in line with the vision of the Women’s Studies Network and its general program, which aims to rethink the issue of gender and its interpretations, and to discuss the feminist struggle and its problems in the Arab context today.The program includes a series of monthly scientific seminars concerned with monitoring feminist writings and academic studies on the one hand, and on the one hand, and addressing current women’s issues and social action in the Arab public sphere, on the other. The program hosted a group of specialists and specialists in the subject of gender and related disciplines and a group of activists, activists and institutions in the field of women, through two seminars that dealt with two books on the issue of gender in the Arab world.
