As part of the network’s keeping up with global sociological theses, the network organized an international symposium in partnership with the Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies, the American University of Beirut, and the Institute of Social Sciences at the Lebanese University, in person and online, entitled “Social Love and the Important Potentials of People: When Social Reality Challenges Sociological Imagination” on May 5. / April 2022 at the American University of Beirut headquarters. The symposium hosted Professor of Sociology at Sapienza University of Rome – Italy, Silvia Cataldi, and Professor of Sociology at the University of Salerno – Italy, Gennaro Iorio, as keynote speakers, who discussed the concept of “social love” and its importance as a critical force capable of achieving peace and change in human society.
