The Policy Unit of the International Network for the Study of Arab Societies, in cooperation with the Century Institute for Peace and Development, organized the international scientific symposium “The Somali Experience in the Transition from War to Peace and Construction” on October 14, 2021. The symposium focused on the historical context of the emergence of the modern Somali state, the causes of conflicts, and the most prominent challenges that face it. It is currently facing, especially the role of Western colonialism in dividing the country and its repercussions on the state of Somalia after it went through successive turns, wars, and crises.
