The Intellectual Platform Network opened Enas Dialogues with the first scientific seminar on February 11, 2021, during which it discussed the book “Producing the Void – Arab Research Traditions” by Dr. Adnan Al-Amin, with the participation of a group of social science specialists from different Arab countries via the Zoom application. Al-Amin’s book is a detailed qualitative study that represents an epistemological break with the prevailing interpretations of research problems in the social sciences, focusing in particular on the production of knowledge in the social sciences, It appears that the prevailing research traditions in this production are social traditions, and therefore lead to a cognitive vacuum. The participants unanimously agreed that the book “Producing the Void: Arab Research Traditions” calls on the Arab scientific community to build different productions and to transform the discussion into what can produce real knowledge, and that this new awareness urges the scientific community to bring about a revolution in the social sciences.
